Israel’s hybrid VC-crowdfunding platform OurCrowd has announced that the total amount of funds raised for early stage companies is above $12 million. This $12 million is in addition to the $5.5 million in funding OurCrowd raised for its own platform in February this year. OurCrowd reports that there have been 18 completed funding round on its platform thus far.
Israeli startup Zula, which provides an innovative cloud-based mobile collaboration platform for teams, has raised $350,000 in a seed financing round, using Israeli crowdfunding website OurCrowd.
Zula was is led by Jacob Ner-David, who co-founded DeltaThree, and Pulver, who is a well-known early investor in Twitter and FourSquare.
Israeli pharmaceutical company Kamada Ltd., which is publicly traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, is planning to raise $69 million on Nasdaq. The funds will be raised in accordance to the companies market cap on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, which is $331 million.
Israeli medical company Spectrum Dynamics, which develops personalized molecular imaging and applications in nuclear cardiology, has been acquired by Singaporean company Biosensors International Group Ltd.
The Singaporean company will acquire all of the Israeli company’s assets and will pay up to $51 million, including payments for milestone achievements.
BOM Capital, a venture capital arm of Holland’s Brabant Development Agency funded by the Dutch government, is eyeing Israeli companies. The investment company, which manages a €120 fund, will send a delegation to Israel next week, which will meet with representatives from Israeli high-tech and biomed companies.
Israeli company TheraCoat, which develops systems for targeted drug delivery, has raised $7 million. The funds were raised from Pontifax and Chealth alongside private investors. The company, which specializes in drug delivery systems for internal cavities, specifically the bladder, says that it will use the funds for R&D, clinical trials, and the launch of sales.
Israeli wireless charging company Powermat is acquiring a major competitor, Finnish company PowerKiss. The two companies announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement to combine their companies under the Powermat Technologies umbrella.
The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Israeli company Alcobra Pharmaceuticals, which is developing medication to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), has raised $25 million in a Nasdaq IPO. The company is valued at $113 million and will be traded under the ticker ADHD.
The IPO exceeds the company’s estimate, which was to raise $15-20 million at a company value of $100 million.
Israeli company Veracity, which develops big data solutions, has been acquired by Israeli company EMET Computing. The acquisition was made through EMET’s subsidiary, Blue Space Technologies and is estimated at NIS 13 million ($3.54 million).
Israeli startup Emaze, which developed a platform for easily creating designed presentations, has raised $800,000. According to TechCrunch, the funds came from Israeli incubator TheTime.
Emaze’s vision is to change the way people create presentations through a simple, fully automated process that generate powerful and engaging showcases.
