Israeli startup Zerto, which is developing cloud-based disaster recovery tools, has announced the closing of a financing round, raising $13 million. The round was led by RTP Ventures, which was joined by existing investors. Zerto has raised $21.2 million to date.
American software giant CA Technologies will acquire Israeli startup Nolio over the next few weeks at a company value of $40 million. The Israeli company, founded in 2006, develops technology for the deployment of applications on the cloud.
Israeli-founded company Ravello Systems, which is “the industry’s first ‘cloud application platform,’” has announced that it has raised $26 million in a financing round. The round was led by Sequoia Capital, with participation from Norwest Venture Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners.
Israeli Prefecto Mobile Inc. has announced that it finished its 3rd financing round, raising $15 million. The round was led by Globespan Capital Partners and was joined by Carmel Ventures, Vertex Venture Capital and the Waisbein Fund. Perfecto Mobile develops cloud-based testing, automation and monitoring solutions for mobile apps and websites.
Israeli startup company Intigua, which develops virtualization technology, has won first place in the “new technology” category at the international cloud and virtualization conference VMworld 2012. The company develops software which improves security and management capabilities when utilizing cloud technology. Approximately 100 companies presented at the conference, which is considered the main conference for cloud technology.
US-Israel-based TriPlay, a developer of cloud-based services that allow users to share multimedia content across multiple platforms and devices, has raised $5 million from new investor Kenges Rakishev. The latest funding brings its total investment to $15 million and will allow Triplay to intensify its marketing efforts for accelerating user acquisition, new business partnerships and expand its global footprint into Europe and Asia. The company has offices in New York and Israel.
CJ Hellovision, Korea’s leading cable operator, and cloud gaming company Playcast Media Systems announced they have entered a deal to launch a cloud gaming service in Korea. The service will allow cable-TV subscribers to play console-quality video games from major game publishers through their existing set-top boxes. CJ Hellovision has 3.51 million subscribers and is a subsidiary of regional giant CJ Corp. Playcast, founded in 2007, is a privately-held company based in Israel.
Threat detection company Seculert announced that it has closed a $5.35 million round of venture financing led by Norwest Venture Partners (NVP), with participation of existing investor YL Ventures. The funding will be used to further invest in sales and product development teams as well as establish a US presence. Seculert, which developed patent-pending cloud-based technology that provides early detection of cyber threats, is based in Petach-Tikva, Israel.
CloudOn, a tablet app for creating, editing and managing Microsoft Office and Adobe documents in the cloud, announced it has closed $16 million in a Series B funding round led by The Social+Capital Partnership. In the round participated also Translink Capital and existing investors: Foundation Capital and Rembrandt Venture Partners. CloudOn was launched in January 2012 and according to the company passed one million downloads in less than five months. It will use the funding to scale business operations and develop a productivity workspace available on any mobile device. The company is based in Silicon Valley with offices in Herzliya, Israel.
