Israeli startup FTBpro, which operates the world’s largest fan-based soccer content website, has announced that it has raised $5.8 million. The funds were raised from Battery Ventures and Gemini Israel Funds. The company says that it will use the funds to further expand their website, which currently offers articles in English, Italian, German and Spanish.
Israeli company Ocon Medical, which is developing an advanced intrauterine device, has announced that it has raised NIS 6 million (approx. $1.7 million). The round was led by Israeli Pontifax fund, with participation from existing investor Docor International.
Inkjet printing systems developer DigiFlex Ltd. has raised $2 million in a inancing round was reported by investor ProSeed Venture Capital Fund. ProSeed said that it had itself invested $200,000 as part of the latest financing round and that this brings its holding in DigiFlex to 7.82%. Teuza – A Fairchild Technology Venture Ltd. reported to the TASE that it had invested $500,000 in the current round and that it now holds a 22.7% stake in DigiFlex. DigiFlex was founded in 2008 by Uri Adler and CTO Dr. Moshe Frenkel. The company develops, manufactures and markets an inkjet solution for labels, cartons, and flexible packaging. The solution can replace laser-based systems, which use flexographic plates for these materials.
VoIP systems security developer VibeSec has closed a $4 million financing round. The financing round was reported by investor ProSeed Venture Capital Fund which had already invested $600,000 in the latest financing round giving it a 10.42% stake in the startup. ProSeed said that the financing round included a new investor and some of the existing shareholders. VibeSec said that proceeds from the financing round will be used to expand its marketing and sales network, and develop new applications.
Israeli startup Scringo, which develops mobile apps, has raised $700,000 in seed financing from Inimiti and angel investors. Scringo’s platform allows app developers to add key features to their apps by using open-source code, thus saving development time.
According to the IVC research center, 575 Israeli high tech companies have raised a total of $1.92 billion in 2012 from local and foreign investors. The figure presents a 10 percent decline from 2011, in which 545 companies raised a total of $2.14 billion.
Israel startup OurCrowd, an equity Crowdfunding platform, has announced that it has closed its Series A funding round, raising a total of $5.5 million. The company says that during its first quarter of operation, companies using the platform raised an average of $500,000 and $12 million in total.
Israeli company SimilarGroup, which launched the web measurement tool SimilarWeb, announced $2.5 million in new funding. The round was led by Moshe Lichtman, the former President of Microsoft’s Israel Research and Development Center, and as a part of the funding, Lichtman is also joining the company’s board.
Abe’s Market, an online organic e-commerce platform founded in Israeli in 2009, has announced that it has raised $5 million in a financing round. The website, currently only operating in the US, deals in organic products, from baby food to fashion accessories. The company operates out of Chicago with offices in Jerusalem.
Israeli company Quiet Therapeutics Ltd. has announced that it has raised $5.5 million. The company, which develops nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems for chemotherapy and anti-inflammatory, has already received $300,000. The initial sum will be used for a feasibility study of the technology, and if successful, the rest of the funds will be transferred.
