    Israeli High-Tech Companies Raised $930 In Second Quarter of 2014 

    ivcresearchJuly 15, 2014 | According to the IVC Research Center, Israeli high-tech companies raised $930 million in the second quarter of 2014, the highest quarterly amount since 2000. The amount was raised by over 175 Israeli high-tech companies in Q2/2014, a 38 percent jump from the $673 million raised in the first quarter of 2014 and 109 percent above the $446 million attracted to Israeli tech in the second quarter of 2013. Each company averaged a financing round of $5.3 million in Q2/2014. The figures include a $135 million investment in Landa Digital Printing by Germany’s ALTANA Group.

    Cloud Storage And Data Protection Co. CTERA Closes $25M Funding Round 

    CTERA - News Flash - IsraelJuly 3, 2014 | The cloud storage and data protection service for enterprises CTERA closed a $25 million funding round yesterday (Wednesday). The funding round was led by the American venture capital firm Bessemer Ventures together with Benchmark Capital, Cisco and Venrock. Following this round of funding, the total funding for CTERA since the company was founded in 2008 will total $45 million. CTERA’s technology enables enterprises and companies to provide their employees, as well as outside customers, with cloud-based storage, sharing and backup services. The company recently opened an office in New York City.

    Dune Medical Devices Raises $21M 

    FDA approves Dune Medical's breast tumor testJune 26, 2014 | Dune Medical Devices, a company specializing in removing breast tumors in one swift surgery, raised $21 million. The current financing round was led by Kraft Group and Canepa Advanced Healthcare Fund. Approximately $14 million of the total investment will go directly to the company, while the remaining $7 million will be transferred to the company in October 2014. Dune Medical Devices’ product, the MarginProbe, was approved by the FDA in the beginning of 2013. It specializes in identifying if all of cancerous parts of a breast tumor have been removed in surgery in real time, during the surgery. Dune Medical Devices was founded in 2002 and is a privately held company with offices in the US and Israel.

    Webydo Web Designer Raises $7M 

    webydoJune 22, 2014 | The Israeli-run website design site Webydo raised $7 million in a Series B funding round. The funding round was led by OurCrowd, Magma Capital Partners and other unnamed strategic investors from the U.S. and U.K., and brings Webydo’s total funding to a sum of $9.7 million. According to CEO Shmulik Grizim, Webydo will use the new batch of funds to improve website-designing software and to develop additional tools to expand its community cloud platform. Webydo was founded in 2008 by Grizim and Tzvika Steinmetz as an online tool to generate beautifully designed websites without any need for prior programming knowledge.

    Noise Reduction Technology Developer Silentium Raises $10M 

    silentium-logoJune 17, 2014 | Israeli device-noise reduction company Silentium raised $10 million in funding from an unidentified Russian investment bank, according to “TheMarker.” The company has developed technology that is able to silence noise by about 90 percent from devices, home appliances, and even automobiles, previously raising $15 million from Israeli cleantech fund Terra Ventures. Founded in 1997 by CEO Yossi Barath and Nehemia Amir, Silentium is based in Rehovot, Israel and employs nearly 25 individuals.

    IDC Elevator Raises $10M From Chinese InvestorsIsraeli accelerator program IDC Elevator, founded by Uri Glazer and Tom Bronfeld, has completed a successful funding round, raising $10 million. TheMarker reports that the sum was raised from private Chinese investors and financial institutions in China.

    The new fund will be directed towards $250,000 seed investments in 20 companies over the course of a year.
